    Singapore Sienta 3rd Anniversary Dinner

Had a great time at Galileo Cafe at Alps Ave. Food is great, we had fun, won lucky draw some more. Hehe...

    Big Pau!!!

Had swimming in the morning... then I realise the locker message...

    21082008270

If don't leave inside the locker, then leave outside meh??!?! Then what's the locker for?! Sigh...

Love the drive to the club... nice peaceful roads... especially the road just outside the club... see for yourself...

    21082008271

Drove down to Blk 844 of Tampines St 82... The coffee shop there is really expensive and food really sucks... The only thing worth mentioning is the big pau. The big pau cost $1.50 each but really huge. It claims to be JB pau but made in Singapore... So I reckon someone came over to Singapore to work lah... hehe...

The pau is sold hot or cold... cold if you not going to consume immediately, so when you heat up later, the juice will all be there and the skin will not be so soggy. Meat is all lean and best of all, a good segment of the egg inside hehe... Go try it, but beware of 2 things... the juice will spill out when you bite... and secondly, it's addictive!

Ok going for Hark Music Team meeting now... got into the performing team... will be heading for D&D after that... took part in the Idol Contest... haha... defending my title this year again... fun! Later folks!

    Feeling Sad Again...

Watching an episode on Channel U about 2 teenagers born in different sides of the world, living totally different lives but born on the same day and same year. She is born in Singapore, gets all that she wants, more than enough to eat, sleep, everything... He is born in Cambodia... yeah you know the story... live in the slumps, not enough to eat, sleep in poor conditions, etc... he picks rubbish for a living at 17 years old... and earns like US$0.50 a day... from the looks of it... I don't think I might be able to take it when I'm there in Oct for the receeing trip to look for a home to sponsor. Think God's calling for me to go there is getting clearer and clearer.

Just found out about World Vision Singapore... I've always been looking forward to making full use of my singing and they actually have volunteer performers! So I quickly sign up and I wrote this comment.

"I've love singing all my life and I always believe God gave me this good voice for a reason... and I found that reason today."

Now I will be finding out more about how to sponsor a child in Cambodia, China and Myanmar. I urge my friends who can help also, please check them out at www.worldvision.org.sg. Even in a small way by buying a t-shirt online. You will be blessed!

    Fastest Man On The Earth

Can't imagine what I saw last night... fastet man on earth.... Bolt was not the fastest out from the blocks but he's definitely super fast from the last 60m. At the last 25m, he was seen relaxing already... if he carried on sprinting, he could've done a record that might not be beaten for decades... but 9.69 secs was already like a sprint god. So my guess is that if he sprinted all the way, he could be doing 9.60secs at least. Cocky he may be, but I guess he has his reservations.

Tonight will be the finals between China and Singapore Table Tennis. I doubt Singapore will stand a chance with China who has the world numbers 1-3 there already. How to beat? But the ball is round and it may roll in our way tonight. So let's just hope for the best and cheer to the girls.

Will be heading to Sienta Club Singapore 3rd Anniversary Dinner at around 5pm... so will be taking a lot of photos of super solid made over Sientas for all of you to see... There will be 60 sientas gathered at Changi today... haha... people will be wondering what happened... haha...

Ok gtg... working on GDP's online shopping cart now... headache...

    Hotel Room Issue & Cambodia

Wah lau eh... got an email from the booking agent... telling me the semi double room is very small... then why they put it up the website in the first place? then why is it more expensive than a single room? then why confirm my booking first then tell me? I requested to see the pics of the room... still waiting for a reply from her... I will kick up a big fuss... trust me... Angry

The swim this morning was good and relaxing but I forgot my goggles... so I swam without it.. still ok lah, a bit blur underwater only... There was a bunch of teenage Indian boys there... left before they created havoc over the the other side of the pool. Wonder if they were drunk... hmmm...

The club promised me some bowling vouchers because I complained about the towels which smells like Hay Bee (dried shrimps)... but I have not received them... its been 2 months... so much for their promise... Actually it's the stupid Club Executive... time waster. So I emailed to him today and CC to HR and Membership executives, informing him that the problem of Hay Bee has not been resolved and that I have not received ay shitty bowling vouchers. So if next week I still don't get an answer, I will forward to the top. Wah lau make me sound like complain king like that leh... no lah, just that there are many things this week which deserves to be reported lah... no choice.

Just came back from bowling... average down lah... only managed a high game of 187 only. Quite tired now... 2 sports in a day... sigh... but it's more of like catching up with my ex-colleagues from the bank lah... Spoke to Willie about GDP's Corporate Social Responsibilty(CSR) this year in Cambodia... we should be heading towards Siem Reap end of Oct to recce for a well deserved Childrens' Home for us to commit our donations and volunteering to. Then will be back to prepare for the formal trip in Nov with a group of volunteers... a few of my business friends will be contributing to the event as well... If you're wondering it's a lot of money right? No man, even $500 is already a lot of money in Cambodia... So even with S$1000, you can do wonders already...

I'm really looking forward to the trip but at the same time, may not be able to take it when I see kids suffering and their extremely poor living conditions. Half of Cambodia is made up of kids under 16 years old... and we are there to help... in a small way... but we are trying our best to help as much as possible. God knows we can only do so much. So we'll leave it to Him to lead us the way.

For GDP, eventually we hope to build a Home there... help these kids to grow by educating them and hope that when they come of age, are able to fend for themselves and hopefully, they can come back and continue what we have started. At the same time, I also hope to start some micro factories there for production of products that may be designed by us... this will help them to find jobs and probably grow more factories and hire more of these kids who are out from the home.

So to all my friends, if you are able to help the needy in anyway, do it in your own way... no matter how small it may be. Trust me, the rewards are a lot bigger and a lot more enriching than earning your first million dollars.Smile

Gotta sleep liao... tomorrow long day... nite all... Sleepy Sleeping half-moon

    Tokyo Confirm!

Today finally got the hotel confirmation for Tokyo!!! So hard to book lah! But finally got it. Got a twin room for Eve and Doo and a single one for myself... I don't care how small the room may be, nothing will beat the bloody room I stayed in at Tatami Hampton Hotel in HK... room + toilet is smaller than my Hougang room... I will never forget that...

So quite excited about the trip cos first time going Japan... should be fun cos I don't speak Japanese... that's fun man... hahaha... all the sign languages you have to make for the other party to understand... hehe... think better learn some jap just in case need it... like toilet, hospital, etc... sigh...

This week damn busy man... stupid flashdrives cannot let those farking china people QC... damn... I really need a break lah... knn... losing it liao... sigh...

Met up with my banker today... finally GDP secured a business loan! This loan will help the company to grow a lot... so happy!

Tomorrow swimming in the morning and bowling in the evening... so will be relaxing day for me... no choice have to do sports to relax myself.

    Sleep soon nite all...

    Stuffs...

The dinner last night was really good... first time Ubi Techpark held such a 7th Month event... not suppose to go but my mum participated in support for activities within the industrial park lah... so might as well go just for the food. Food was good and the auctioner is really good and was funny throughout. The whole event ended with someone bidding for a 'Huat Kuey' for $3888... you know how many Huat Kueys I can buy??? But this is for his good luck lah. Some people believe in that lah... Thinking

    Olympics

Caught the match between China and US last night... wah lau... quite disappointed with China... They can't score on the outside and can't score inside as well... like that sure lose. Some more with players like Kobe Bryant, James Lebron and Dwayne Wade, one Yao Ming cannot stop them lah... you need to groom like 3 Yao Mings to build the defence. Seems like the US team will be going all the way if they are not too cocky after last night's match. Kobe, James and Dwayne are humble players who are legends in NBA already at their age. The rest I feel are a little cockier. Just hope China will find their pace back again and put some work on their coordination and attacks. Maybe they may be able to face US in the finals again if they win all the other matches... if...

Till now no news from Eve on the Tokyo trip... need to pressure her or else tomorrow sale end, tix will go up to $1k+ per person, then I won't go anymore. I rather buy my tix to Dubai in advance. Yeah planning on going to Dubai this Dec. For work lah. so let's wait and see tonight got news or not...

Suppose to meet kev tomorrow night at the airport for supper and catch up a little before he flies again back to Melbourne that same morning. But no news from him yet so I will call him in a while to check. Dunno if it's Terminal 1 or 3... Tamade... never tell me how to meet him!?!?!

Today is Erica's birthday... we're classmates during high school... know her for 17 years liao... how time flies... she got 3 boys liao and me, still single... sigh... Will be arranging dinner on one of the week nights together with the gang again some time next week. Hope all can turn up lah... 'cos long time all never meet liao. So now must wreck my brains on the location and decide for everyone if not we will not end up anywhere. Wink

Ok going for dinner now at Ubi Techpark... later dudes.

    Feeling Patriotic

Yes I'm feeling Patriotic... it started from last night's Beijing Olympic Games Opening... It was really amazing and unforgettable. The Bird's Nest Stadium itself is already a spectacular sight... let alone the fireworks... I remember the footsteps fireworks that came from a few kilometres away from the stadium... that was awesome man, really awesome! 200 over countries march pass and the idea of having their footprints doing up an artpiece was really brilliant... not forgetting the 2008 drummers in very well cheorographed dance movements. The grand finale was the Olympic Flame light up where China's Prince of Gymnastics flew up in the sky till the top of the stadium, and he was literally running along the sides of the Bird's Nest while the superimposed scroll unfolds all the other torch bearers before him which lead the flames to the stadium...

I am really proud of what Beijing has done for the Olympics... the amount of fireworks, the amount of paying attention to details, the amazing show last night really make all Chinese around the world proud of their achievements. No matter where we are, we are all Chinese and were once from China. Nothing is not going to change that fact. Well done Beijing... you have set a standard so high that London will scratch not only their heads but also their balls to come up with something close to that for 2012 Olympics.

I must give credit to that row of girls around the track in the stadium while the teams from different countries were coming into the stadium... they had to stand there, dance, hop around and cheer all the countries coming in... I reckon was at least 2 hours for all 200+ countries to come in... amidst the bloody heat, I really pity them... salutes to those girls! It's either you're bloody strong or you're on ecstacy!

Today is Singapore's National Day... Typing this blog while watching the National Day Parade (NDP) at our floating stadium. The parade is kinda SOP but we have The Black Knights performing a little longer for us this year with death defying stunts which make them so powerful. But whatever it is, everyone there is putting up their best performances for our little nation. Well done guys!

Whenever the nation songs are being played, you tend to feel a little emotional... We were dropped by Malaysia in 1965... in other words, left alone to die during that time. If not for our strong leaders aka SMP Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore will not be what it is today. 43 years old only we have the best ports and airports in the world. Not forgetting top 5 Zoo and bird parks. Now we have the biggest ferries wheel... and we'll be hosting the first ever night F1 Race in Sept next month... and soon we'll be having 2 casinos and integrated resorts... and to top it all, we'll be hosting the 2010 Youth Olympics! My goodness... talking about all these make me really proud and worry at the same time... Worry is because Singapore will become more expensive and the locals will be affected in many ways...

Singapore has not peaked yet but when they do, I hope all Singaporeans will benefit from it and not suffer from commercialisation and get lost in this metropolistic jungle.

    Typhoon Kammuri

Typhoon Kammuri hits HK... suay suay lim peh eh DHL shipment got stuck... lucky sent out much earlier, so got a few days of buffer. Customer super kan cheong early morning started calling me and keep asking about status... if got status I sure tell you one right? Relax lah, you'll get old faster this way leh! Anyways, that is being resolved already lah...

Went down to my PI to check my car's speakers... they didn't configure the back speakers for me lah, sigh... so now the whole car has very good surround sound... love it...

Eve called the day before and ask if wanna go Tokyo with Doo and her. Never been there, so will go end of this month with her... what to look out for ah? Any comments?

Going for bowling now... tired but need to practise ...report scores later...

East Coast Park & Victor's Dim Sum

Woke up early on Sun for a walk at East Coast Parkway... long drive there but it's worth it. Parked my car at the club and began my walk towards the Bedok Jetty.  03082008255 Lovely beach side walk... love the air, love the place...
    03082008253 (2)03082008254 (2)03082008259

Still see some assholes cycling into the designated walking path 03082008256 knn eh, almost push them off their bikes! Can't they just see this sign and follow the tracks??? 03082008260

Finally reached Bedok Jetty, this is a jetty whereby many people caught huge fishes before. But I dunno how is it now lah... maybe no more fish liao... still see 2 young chaps heading towards the end of the jetty, reminds me of my friends and me last time, crazy over fishing... 03082008258 (2) But now more of deep sea fishing lah... hope to organise one soon... I love it on a kelong... lie on the hammock, staring up in the sky filled with stars, sea breeze blowing, babes beside you, BBQ stove going on with nice food and fresh seafood, sigh, lovely... Ok stop day dreaming... So that was the walk lah, not many babes to see, but I had a good workout.

Went for guitar lessons that same afternoon... my guitar coach asked me to sing while he plays... and he sang back up vocals as well... really nice harmonising! Then after I went to Sunshine Plaza where I parked my car, I was determine to try the famous Victor's Dim Sum at the ground floor of that shopping mall. Tables and chairs over spilling the outsides of the cramp shop space, I found a nice corner to savour what I came for. I ordered the Char Siew Pao, Prawn Spring Roll, Lotus Leaf Rice, Carrot Cake and Ice Cold Yuen Yang drink (half coffee and tea). Victor is from HK and he made all these food himself. You have to wait a little while because the food that you ordered will be cooked on the spot.

    1. Char Siew Pao - Comes in a pair only instead of the normal 3pcs, but it's worth it. The char siew inside is sufficient, chunky and lean, sweet and tasty thick sauce in there, very very good.
    03082008263

    2. Lotus Leaf Rice - This one very long wait... but it's worthwhile... The glutinous rice cooked to perfection, lots of ingredients inside, there is some kind of white gravy inside that stays without spilling out. Really good....
    03082008267

    3. Prawn Spring Roll - Comes in a pair too... cut into bite size pieces, very crispy, fillings you can see big prawns inside with very nice springiness. Comes with a watery vinegar sauce to dip in and really compliments the spring rolls well. Trick is NOT to smell the sauce... it smells like my sweaty t-shirt tucked inside a plastic bag overnight... but it still taste good lah... the sauce I mean...
    0308200826403082008265

    4. Carrot Cake - Oh my, this carrot cake is so tender with chunks of chinese sausages and mushroom and strands of white carrot inside. Serve with soy sauce and home made Dried Scallops XO Sauce. This XO Sauce can be bought off the shelve too. But not cheap...
    03082008269

    5. Ice Yuen Yang - Smooth and nice without too sweet... nice but a bit steep for $1.80.
    03082008268

Whole bill came up to about $20+... not cheap but the quality is there. Weekends are crazy over there... Heard on that Sun itself, there is a crowd waiting outside already at 9am while they open at only 10.30am... So for weekends, this may not be a good idea unless of course you know them and they will get a seat for you no matter what... Like now, they know me,... hehe...

So now Kev is going to say, bring me there when I'm back in Dec!!! Haha, definitely bro. There's the famous Wan Tan Noodles on the same floor too!

Ok need to sleep, swimming again tomorrow. Nite! Wink
    August 03

    Saturday Night Fever

No no no, I'm not sick... just that it's really rare for me to be resting at home on a Sat night. But Chris is sick, so I hope she gets better soon.

Yesterday was a day of meetings and running errands. Customer from the day before sms me and told me I was her life saver... Been saving a lot of lives since last year... maybe should be life guard or doctor... hehe... Well all I can say, I can only try my best to help and salvage what other people has screwed up on. Been doing a lot of impossible projects with impossible deadlines and it seems like each time, it's getting tougher and tougher... in no time, we might get a call one morning from a customer saying,"Hi Roy, ermm... we have an event this evening and the other vendor cannot deliver today... do you have anything that can deliver by this evening with 1C printing of logo???" All of you might think it's impossible right? Well it happened before lor... I delivered within that evening for 1500pcs of pens with printing. Now you know what I mean by tougher and tougher...Eye-rolling

Went to Hark Music this afternoon for my auditions to get into their 2nd Music Team for productions and performances locally and overseas. Was there pretty early as I was the 3rd person to be auditioned. Quite nerve wrecking 'cos the performing studio inside was filled with students and supporters while there were 2 singing coaches and the principal(boss) sitting there in front looking at you. So I sang a song by 顺子, 回家, acapella mind you... quite nervous but I manage to deliver the song... didn't think I did well though... so so only... sigh... dunno why nervous also... been on stage performing for the longest time already and still nervous... hmmm... that's why i must get back to the stage often enough now... and that's why this audition. Let's hope for good news from the management. Angel

After that called up Suraj who is in town... he's my ex-colleague from Netkraft in Bangalore, India.02082008248 (2) Was great catching with him over a jug of freshly brewed India Pale Ale from Brewerks... and of course the deadly super huge serving of nachos with melted mozerella cheese and the works of sour cream, salsa and guacaramole (dunno how to spell so anyhow...hehe) Lovely... 02082008251 (2)02082008252

Would love to go back to Bangalore one day... the weather there is really nice... but the pollution levels are still super high... imagine after one day of touring outside, you come back to your hotel, you dig your nose, all black... no, I'm not talking about the rugby team, I'm talking about the booger in your nose man... nice... haha... Wink

Talk about weather I think of Melbourne liao... 8-14 degrees... tamade... cannot go... should be there now... with tank top and shorts, mid night, eating a large cone of gelati ice cream from Lygon Street... damn!!! Crying Not forgetting Suzie's parents Rose Garden Restaurant at Elizabeth St... Uncle just love the way I wallop all his food that he whips up for me... His cullinery skills are amazing... His Black Pepper Emu is so tender... my goodness!

Ok stop talking about food liao... need to rest early 'cos tomorrow going for a walk at East Coast Parkway... hope those idiots riding bicycle or roller blading don't come into my designated walking path... knock kenna me i won't feel the pain, but you will fall really badly... Party

    Nite nite folks...
    August 01

    Bitching Session...

Received the revised samples today... what a relief for the some but got 1 item, suppose to be red, came out blue... Sometimes I dunno what the factory people are thinking... we've been doing red colour... now can come out with blue!!! Wah lan eh, ki gao lam pa wai! Angry

Rushed out one print job yesterday for one of my customers... they asked us to help them to correct an error done by another vendor... when I receive the goods, I realise they are from one bigger organisation with their own printing facilities... So I'm wondering why they can't do lor. Anyways, I manage to take the goods in on late Wed evening and clean the old printing off the product and reprint them with the corrected logo. Delivered in less than 24hrs... think in the market, no one can do this already... So I told my customer... 早知今日,何必当初! Order from GDP, you pay a premium for a reason... and that is quality service and products.

One customer who owe us more than $10k, called yesterday saying that we should be have printed for them on the boxes as well for a batch of goods delivered to them. We delivered 2 weeks ago by the way... Now then they get back to us and trying to play punk... they dunno last time I do debt recovery one... stupid idiots... I will resolve this silly problem today.

Been really busy with so many things... will be having a design meeting later on new products that we will be working on this year and next. Tomorrow will be going for the auditions to be part of a music team of hark Music, who will have performances locally and overseas... Heard that a lot of their students from the vocal classes took part... I hope I can do well lah... although i'm from the guitar class one... hahaha... Suppose to sing an acapalla song... but the Head of Vocals called me yesterday to prepare more songs... and that she has high expectations from me... jialat... she heard my demos... sigh... wish me luck man...

Ok gtg, need to crap and then go for lunch... not bad huh? What goes out, will come in... haha...
